Pump House Auctions

I love everything about this auction house, as a buyer. From the relaxed viewing days (with the senior staff always present who never fail to smile and greet you), to the friendly and professional team on the desk, the helpful and efficient porters, and even the simple fact that music is playing. Such a far cry from another local auction house (that shall remain nameless) which is like a morgue and where you are left feeling nothing but a nuisance. Keep doing what you’re doing, guys! 🙌🏻

Found via their website which states "...no appointment is needed. No submissions can be accepted during viewing/sale days" so went the day after a sale to drop off my stuff only to be absolutely berated by the gentleman who appeared to be in charge for doing so on that day. I've never been spoken to so rudely by a public facing member of staff. I was taken back at first but bit my tongue and was eventually served by a well mannered young man who still remembers which side of his bread is buttered. I was told the items would be looked at and then grouped to be sold however there was no further communication at all and I had to phone them days after the sale to prompt them to send me an email. The post sale advice slip showed what I will receive for the items but not not what they get. Sale price was dissappointing for a few of items but that may or may not be down to my expectations.

Do not use this auction house. They are a con and rip off. They do not listen to anything you say when selling your items and will list them in anyway they want so they are gone as quickly as possible. They hit you with hidden charges they do not tell you at the start and then hold your payment for 28 WORKING DAYS. I lost over £200 in charges and had to wait 5 weeks for the privilege. I wish I had never used them. They are incompetent, ignorant and just a shambles!!! Do elsewhere, Stride & Son, heck Even EBAY who I thought where the worst of the worst until I met this sorry shower. Please please do NOT go here or like me you will regret your decision . Shame Goggle doesn't allow Zero stars of negative starts, because that is what this lot deserve. Worst thing I did :( :( :( :(
